Designed
by the legendary Fred Hawtree, Hill Barn Golf Club has a long and enviable
history. Since 1935, the course’s rolling fairways have hosted
many professional tournaments; been graced by names such as Peter Alliss
and Tony Jacklin; and have provided the perfect challenge to all golfers
from juniors to scratch players.
The 6,229 yard course provides challenges and surprises for players
of all levels as it undulates through a good balance of par 3s and par
4s of which no two are alike. The signature hole on the 11th has a cunningly
placed array of bunkers set into the hillside but an accurate tee shot
is rewarded by an excellent chance at a birdie. Bordered by mature trees
and hedgerows, the course culminates in a par 5 worthy of this championship
course. |
