Golf & Country Club
Bawtry
Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course, nearly 7,000 yards long off
the white tees. This superb course is a fine example of what can be
achieved with a good eye for course design, splendid ideas and a superb
location. From the tee on the first hole to the eighteenth pin, you
will encounter some testing hazards and tight, tricky fairways. The
greens are quite troublesome and run very fast, so best to make friends
with your putter on the practice putting green before you take them
on. The course is kept in immaculate condition throughout the year by
the dedicated team of greenkeepers |

strategically placed bunkers both on the fairways and around the greens,
and in addition and in common with many other Championship links courses,
it is a true test of golf when the wind blows. It is advisable, to contact
the club in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment and ensure

left their mark on our course. It is set on the hillside above Mirfield
in West Yorkshire. It offers magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding

Fulford
Golf Club In recent years Fulford has undergone
a significant investment programme which has seen improvement in both
irrigation and drainage, additional strategic bunkering, new championship
tees, and further investment into state of the art machinery providing
excellent and consistent playing surfaces. One of the results of this
investment is that the course is rarely closed, and often remains in
good playable condition when other courses in the area are closed. |

Heworth
Golf Club The golf course, which is situated only
a mile and a half from the city centre of York, and is a parkland course
with tight fairways, small greens and a substantial number of mature
trees of diverse species.
Although it is a relatively short course (6105 yards) it is a definite test for golfers of all abilities. It is not easy to ‘burn it up'. The secret of a successful round is straight hitting and accepting one's punishment when in trouble. The four par three holes are rated as the toughest par threes in the York Union of Golf Clubs. The course's antiquity is reflected in the quality of the greens. The course layout allows for the flexibility to play, in addition to a full round, only 9 or 11 holes |

Hillsborough
Golf Club Founded in 1920, Hillsborough Golf Club
is widely regarded as one of the top courses in Sheffield and, according
to the members, Hillsborough has the toughest opening three holes in
the country.
The first is 400-yards plus uphill with out-of-bounds to the left; the second is a neat par three with what can only be descried as an outrageous slope from back to front while the third features a hard to hit, narrow fairway. Not the easiest of starts by any means. The course, which sits roughly 500 feet above sea level, features undulating fairways which are often susceptible to high winds, making some holes very difficult. |

Hornsea
Golf Club
The course is a traditional links design, with the first seven holes
running outward towards the iconic water tower. A double loop of five
holes, including the signature hole, 11th, brings the golfer to Hornsea’s
famous inward stretch, possibly the finest six finishing holes in the
county. Being situated on the Yorkshire coast, the course has many features associated with links golf, including extensive gorse and wind-blasted thorn. The terrain is gently undulating parkland with extensive tree belts to shelter the golfer from the stiff breezes, which are commonplace at seaside courses. |

Ilkley
Golf Club
If you are playing golf in Yorkshire then a visit to Ilkley is a must.
Nestled in the beautiful Wharfe Valley with the famous Moor as a backdrop,
Ilkley is one of the most picturesque courses in the country. With a par of 69 and a standard scratch of 70, the 6235-yard course is a great deal more difficult than it might first appear. Testament to this is the fact that the course record for a professional is 64 and was set by honorary life member Colin Montgomerie in 2000, when he was one of the finest golfers in the world. |
