| Donnington
Grove Country Club Dave
Thomas, the course designer, has to be credited with creating a golf
course that is both aesthetically faultless and a great challenge for
the golfer. Many regard the PAR 72, 7045-yard course as the best in
the region.
The two nines are very different in character; the front nine is very undulating on higher ground and has stunning views over Newbury, whilst the back nine can be described as classic parkland, with an abundance of beautiful trees and water hazards that can unnerve the bravest. Donnington Grove has held two Euro Pro Tours in recent years and in 2004 hosted the Donnington Grove Computacenter English Challenge Open. |

Royal
Ascot Golf Club The challenging 6294 yard parkland
course (HSBC Golf Monthly Gold Medal Award) on 150 acres of wooded Crown
land was described by one former Ryder Cup player as “one of the
best new English courses I have played for a long time.” It is
a Members’ Club, but welcomes societies, guests, charity events
and visitors. There is an active Ladies’ Section, a flourishing
Seniors’ Group, and a highly successful Juniors’ Section.
Members are offered reciprocal arrangements with other ‘Royal
Clubs’ worldwide. We also offer a new Beginner and Intermediate
Golf Academy Scheme. |

Sand
Martins Golf Club Opened
in 1993, the course has been cleverly designed with two distinct and
contrasting nine holes. Laid out in two loops, each finishing in front
of the clubhouse, it offers the golfer with a little spare time the
opportunity of a ‘quick’ nine holes.
Despite the variety in style between the two nines, one thing remains constant - the quality of the playing surfaces. Fully automated watering system means that year round the fairways, tees and greens are maintained to the highest standard. The course is continually being upgraded and improved by PGA Professional and owner Andrew Hall, whose enthusiasm and commitment to the development of Sand Martins is clearly evident. |

Temple
Golf Club This 6210 yard, par 70 course remains
true to its original design and has many special holes which provide
challenges to golfers of all abilities. The tenth, for example, is a
long par 3 with a hidden green sunk down into a bowl and is listed as
one of the top 100 most unusual golf holes. Whatever the season, the course always has something very special to offer. Spring has its many shades of green as the leaves burst into leaf. Summer brings a blaze of colour with the wild flowers including several rare species of wild orchids. In Autumn, the fall is always stunning and due to the fact that it is built on chalk the course is an excellent Winter golfing venue. |

Theale
Golf Club Although flat this parkland course is
deceptively challenging. Holes varying in length from 145 yards to 530
yards (off the yellow tees), and numerous hazards in between ensures
a game at Theale Golf Club remains interesting throughout.
The doglegs demand precise drives such as the 14th – if you clear the water hazard you may be in with a birdie chance – and par 3’s guarded by water or sand traps (such as 6th and 13th respectively) form quality tests of golf. Water is featured on six holes and approximately 60 bunkers of varying shapes and sizes ensure your skills continually are tested. All greens have been built to USPGA specification and are bent grass greens. |

Berkshire
Golf Club The Berkshire is
one of a group of famous courses laid out amid the extensive trees and
heather to the South and West of Windsor Castle. The Berkshire is the
youngest of the big three clubs in this superb golfing country, having
been founded in 1928, 17 years after Sunningdale and 4 years after Wentworth.
The two courses, Red and Blue, were both laid out in 1928 by the
Herbert Fowler, who also designed Walton Heath, and Cruden Bay. Among
the great course architects of the era, he is often overlooked, but
he had a special talent for designing courses of great natural beauty
which blend into their landscape and surroundings. |

There are two practice areas for up to a six iron and a third area for 'some' drivers. There are two par five's, both reachable in two by strong hitters and four excellent par three's, including the 7th, our signature hole, played across a lake to an elevated green. The 13th is played across a stream in a shallow valley to a contoured green. |

Golf Club
The course measures 6,276 yards and has a par and standard scratch of
71. The course is easy to walk with tree-lined fairways and is fondly
remembered by all who play it. The course plays longer than its yardage
due to the elevations of several greens and fairways and although originally
a heath land course, there is now an abundance of mature trees and shrubs
all around the course. The greens are true and fast, and have many testing
swales and idiosyncrasies.
The course is in excellent condition throughout the year, and as the Michelin Guide says “it is worth a detour”. |
