Eaton
Golf Club At Eaton we are very proud of our golf

Hazel

parkland course at Hazel Grove Golf Club is characterised by several
natural water hazards. Add to these the planting of a further 6,500

Heaton
Moor Golf Club Set in a mature
and protected conservation area, the gently undulating parkland course
has two separate 9 holes starting from the Clubhouse. As a member and
if time is short, the layout lends itself to playing just a few holes,
if preferred, since there are several starting points. On a light summer
evening it is hard to resist slipping out for ‘a bit of practice’
and you always have the added comfort of knowing that you are never
more than a short walk from the 19th! You
will find that the main challenge over this well-maintained course is
one of accuracy, both to avoid the bunkers-a-plenty and, particularly,
the hundreds of trees that line the relatively narrow fairways. But
don’t relax when you reach the greens! There are lots of subtle
borrows to test your skill with the putter.

is today's front 9. The extra 9 holes were added in the late 60s to
make a challenging but enjoyable par 70 course over 6,260yds. The course is generally described as parklands, mostly flat, with an interesting complement of trees and lakes, and is now established as one of the best club courses in Cheshire. Although an easy walking course, it provides a true challenge for all ages and handicap categories. |

Marple
Golf Club A compact but pleasantly challenging
18 hole course with lengths of 5554 off White tee's, 5373 off Yellow
tee's and 5228 off Red tee's. In spite of that, it is still a very enjoyable
round of golf and offers a whole host of challenges that must be successfully
negotiated if a good score is to be recorded. It is an excellent test
of your iron play and a fine example of how a course doesn't have to
be long to be testing.
It is set in mature, tree-lined park land with several ponds and other interesting water hazards and has gentle slopes overlooking the Cheshire Plain and runs between the Macclesfield Canal and Middlewood Way. The golf club has an enviable reputation for being very friendly and sociable and is steeped in history and tradition, first established in 1892. |

Mere
Golf & Country Club Surrounded by the breathtaking
Cheshire parklands the James Braid designed golf course at The Mere
is undoubtedly one of the best prepared and well-conditioned golf courses
in the North of England. The 18 hole, 6,882 -yard, par-71 course was
created out of 150 acres of Cheshire parkland in 1934. The surrounding
mature trees, rhododendron bushes and the lakeside setting add considerable
charm, and provide challenging hazards on this Manchester golf course.
Water, ravines and thick vegetation have been incorporated into the
layout so that care and accuracy are demanded both off the tees and
on the greens. |

on the outskirts of Warrington. The nine holes of narrow tree lined
fairways offer a great test to any standard of golfer. Our members have
learned to be arrow straight as a well placed tee shot can offer great
rewards.
We can also provide a golfer with the best short game practise facilities around. Back in 2008 the club were awarded a grant from Sport England which was used to construct the Chip & Pin Short Game Centre. This consists of two large greens, one that is a synthetic pitching green and the other which can be used to improve your chipping and bunker play. |

Vale
Royal Abbey Golf Club The course was designed by
renowned British Golf Course Architect Simon Gidman, and is set amidst
beautiful Cheshire countryside. As such, the course enjoys breathtaking
views to be enjoyed throughout your round.
All greens are constructed to USGA specifications, which along with the naturally free draining site, enables the course to remain open and in a fully playable condition all year round, irrespective of the weather conditions. All tees remain in use throughout the year eliminating the need for winter tees or mats, and the use of Competition tees is also permitted all year round for general play for those wishing to be challenged by the course at its longest. |

Vicars
Cross Golf Club is a mature 18 hole parkland course
of almost 6500 yards from the white tees and has a par of 72. In recent
years many improvements have been made including extensive tree planting,
improving fairway drainage and rebuilding the greens to USGA standards.
Members and visitors alike can now enjoy year-round golf on one of Cheshire's
most attractive courses. The golf course architect Ken Moodie designed and oversaw the entire project using all his knowledge and experience. He introduced some very interesting, not to mention challenging, putting surfaces with bunkers strategically placed in just the right places in order to encourage accurate approach shots. |

Walton
Hall Golf Club Situated in the old Walton Hall estate,
this is generally regarded as the premier municipal course in the north
of England. It began with nine holes in 1971, was extended and redesigned
six years later by Dave Thomas and Peter Allis, and is now a championship
standard 6800 yards with 3 par 3's over 200 yards long. In a picturesque parkland setting, with fine views from the 13th tee, it boasts many mature trees and a lot of water which comes in to play on seven of the holes. The clubhouse and professional’s shop are located in the converted stables of Walton Hall itself, which also features a heritage centre, together with top class conference facilities, gardens, mini-zoo, children’s play area, bowling green, crazy golf and pitch & putt |

Werneth
Low Golf Club This par 70 parkland course measures
some 6184 yards and is a test for even the low handicap golfer, offering
some outstanding holes. The 5th hole, the most difficult on the course,
plays deceptively long and requires an accurate drive, followed by a
testing downhill approach shot, to avoid the hazards that surround the
green. The 8th is a deceptive dog leg right. Do you lay up or take on
the corner rough? Peter Allis refers to the Par 3, 14th hole at Wentworth
as being very difficult, well we think our uphill par 3, 15th hole to
be even more challenging. Being located along the top of a ridge of hills, the course is open to the elements, which must be considered when considering ones next golf shot. The same exposure does ensure that the course is well drained and is therefore generally always open when other local courses are closed. |
