Teeing up at the first hole you are just yards from the famous Elizabethan
walls. By the time you reach the signature par three eighth hole (played
over a cove) you have a wonderful view of the cliffs leading into Scotland.
After the turn, from the tenth there is an equally stunning view of
the Northumberland coast with Bamburgh and Holy Island castles clearly
in view.
The most dangerous hole on the course is the sixteenth, named "the
destroyer", which is a blind drive only yards away from the shelter
made famous in a painting by L.S. Lowry. |
