A compact but pleasantly challenging
18 hole course with lengths of 5554 off White tee's, 5373 off Yellow
tee's and 5228 off Red tee's. In spite of that, it is still a very enjoyable
round of golf and offers a whole host of challenges that must be successfully
negotiated if a good score is to be recorded. It is an excellent test
of your iron play and a fine example of how a course doesn't have to
be long to be testing.
It is set in mature, tree-lined park land with several ponds and other
interesting water hazards and has gentle slopes overlooking the Cheshire
Plain and runs between the Macclesfield Canal and Middlewood Way. The
golf club has an enviable reputation for being very friendly and sociable
and is steeped in history and tradition, first established in 1892.
