The course gives a genuine feeling of getting away from the stresses
and strains of modern life. Indeed, only three buildings can be seen
from the course - the Clubhouse, Queenwood Golf Lodge and Derry Hill
Church spire. At 7317 yards from the championship tees, Bowood competes
for
length
as well as difficulty with the toughest championship courses but also
provides a great day out for both scratch and occasional golfers.
Numerous tree and water barriers, together with cunningly placed bunkers,

Marlborough
Golf Club The course has
been the venue for the Wiltshire Professional Championships since
1992 but provides a fair test for golfers of all abilities. It is
built on well-drained downland allowing play all year round and rarely
closes but has much more variety to offer than the traditional downland
course. We have a top-class greenkeeping team. Regular players and
visitors have commented on the exceptional quality of the course presentation.
At 6,469 yards from the white tees (6,144 from the yellow tees and 5,569 from the ladies tees), the Marlborough course is a fair challenge for low handicappers and less experienced players alike. |

Ogbourne
Downs Golf Club The course is not particularly long
by today's standards at 6,422 yards but what it lacks in length, it
makes up for in difficulty. Built on the sloping downland, at Ogbourne
you rarely find a flat lie; on most approach shots, the base of the
pin is obscured from view and you are often firing a mid to long iron
into a tight target. The course plays like a links and when the wind
gets up so too does the scoring. |

Chippenham
Golf Club
You will find narrow fairways with small well bunkered greens. The 1st
hole has been described as the toughest 'opener' in the county, so do
not be fooled by the yardage which is highly deceptive due to elevation
change. The five par three holes are quite testing, with the 3rd, 6th
and 14th being the trickiest, but please feel free to look at our detailed
course planner, which is available in paper form from the pro shop.
There are opportunities for most players to get a few pars and the occasional birdie and all golfers will enjoy a pleasant setting and superbly maintained course. Equally, we can boast extensive practice facilities on site. |

Erlestoke
Sands Golf Club Built on two levels, the
course offers wide and lush fairways on the upper section - with mature
oak trees and attractive lakes dissecting the 11th and 12th fairways
on the level below. One of the finest holes in the west country, the
spectacular 170 yard, par-3 seventh has been described as the most picturesque
in the county. It plunges from an elevated tee to a large green 100
feet below. Every hole presents a new and different challenge and with
four alternative length courses, it is suitable for every standard of

Golf Club
Located just 12 miles from the Junction 17 and 11 miles from Junction
18 of the M4 and only 5 miles from the centre of Bath, Kingsdown Golf
Club is easy to get to. The downland course is renowned for its beautiful
scenery, luscious fairways and, of course, its superb greens. The excellent
drainage makes play possible all year round. From the Men’s White
Tees, the course, a Par 72, measures 6,501 yards in length. For the
Ladies, the Red Tees boast 5,744 yards and a Par 73. Whilst seemingly

Golf Club This flat Parkland course is suited to
people of all ages and ability. The course opened in 1993 with the objective
of getting people into golf. It is now a thriving pay as you play Golf
Club which also has memberships available. The 9 hole par 35 is short
enough for beginners to enjoy but also provides a stern test to established
golfers with four par 3’s, four par 4’s and two par 5s.
The nature of the course means that on several of the holes there are
different ways of playing them; therefore your course management will
be tested to the maximum. Having two sets of tees on each hole, means
that you can play 18 holes and have a degree of variety from the front

Manor
House at Castle Combe Golf Club Golf at Manor House
